2017 was filled with incredibly exciting transformations and announcements. It was the year of continued growth and change for the digital universe of Big Data. It was a definitely the year of AI and everything about analytics and the growing adoption of cloud-native solutions.

With the huge influx of data being created, not only have we seen Big Data grow exponentially at massive scale, it’s also become much faster. The combinations of Fast Data and the expanding world of the Internet of Things (IoT), has unleashed a creative wave of applications and technologies.

This past year, fast data analytics and cloud-nativeness were at the forefront of GigaSpaces’ product strategy. With the launch of our InsightEdge Platform in September, a converged in-memory platform that unifies microservices, analytics, AI and processing in an event-driven architecture, we’ve seen a tremendous growth with both new and existing customers, expanding to new exciting projects. We clearly see that the unification of transactional and analytical processing (HTAP) for fast data insights supports our customers’ need for seamless integration between their applications and data science as they become insight-driven.

In 2017, we’ve also continued to foster our partnerships and technology innovations. Our solutions with Intel® Optane™ SSDs, Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processor and BigDL® for AI Deep Learning innovation were spotlighted at a variety of industry events. Together, GigaSpaces and Intel technologies fill a critical market gap; facilitating and accelerating innovation on real-time advanced analytics and AI applications with low risk and TCO.

With Magic Software Enterprises, InsightEdge Platform was utilized for fast data streaming and aggregation with predictive analytics engines, turning data from sensors into real-time actionable insights. Magic Software’s IoT solution together with InsightEdge can be leveraged for many IoT scenarios, such as predictive maintenance, anomaly detection and service optimization where telemetry is ingested, correlated and merged.

To support and increase our momentum, we’ve grown our leadership team.

Our new branding was launched reflecting our vision and the GigaSpaces’ “why” as we help our customers overcome the complexities and challenges of handling big data and analytics; empowering them to focus on and accelerate real-time application and AI innovation,  with confidence to gain that competitive edge.

As 2018 begins, we see the continued growth and integration of Machine Learning at more and more organizations such as financial services, insurance, healthcare, transportation, and retail. Challenges faced by our customers concerning data complexity and data science requirements will begin to be resolved. Simplification is the key to the democratization of Machine Learning. Microsoft and Google are also talking about the need to democratize ML and AI, making it accessible to developers, users, and enterprises.

Our focus is to make Big Data, advanced analytics and AI even more simple, allowing our customers to continue to innovate with confidence.
