What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas - and online:)

For those who couldn't attend TheServerSide JavaSymposium event in Vegas a few weeks ago, you can find the presentation I gave together with GigaSpaces Senior Architect Shay Banon here: From Tiers to Services without Web-Services: Scalable and Stateful Services for Non-Intrusive SOA. It gives a sneak preview of our upcoming OpenSpaces project ,which includes a new approach to building scalable applications using GigaSpaces and Spring.

I also participated in a panel on High-Performance Architectures. A complete videocast of the panel can be found here. It was moderated by my good friend John Davies, Technical Director, IONA ; and the panelists included Bob Lozano, Founder & Chief Strategist, Appistry; Gil Tene, Co-founder, Azul Systems; and Kirk Pepperdine . I think this piece of the discussion was particularly interesting:

6. We have got J2EE what are your opinions about the design? How much does J2EE come into this and databases?

	7. If you do away with a database, just pretend that is possible, what about all those dealing with database being a challenge because it has that very powerful capability of offering us any new ranking or two ?

	8. I understand that you mentioned Amazon and the question was how can we leverage the computer resources?

I was wondering if it would be possible to hear from the three gentlemen representing companies just a quick summary about what their products are about, just because it seems like we are kind of talking around the issue but really their answer to high performance architecture is their product, so it would be nice to kind of hear a summary?
